WELCOME TO THE FOLKLORE GROUP LAVRADEIRAS DE MEADELA!
The parish of Meadela is located on the right bank of the river Lima, part of the urban perimeter of the city of Viana do Castelo, Minho province. In 1934, in this parish, then characterized by rurality, was founded the Folk Group of Lavenders of Meadela, being for its characteristics and past considered the most representative of the region.
After more than 8 decades, the parish has changed radically, but the group continues to keep alive the traditions inherited from its ancestors, presenting its rich artisanal costumes, dances, songs, traditional songs and scenic repositions related to the agrarian, as its own name "Lavaderas da Meadela" suggests.
