Ermida de Nossa Senhora das Vitórias

Located on the west bank of Lagoa das Furnas, reflected in its waters, it is an impressive example of neo-Gothic style, unique in the entire archipelago. The temple was built at the end of the century. XIX by José do Canto (1820-1898), an illustrious Azorean, with a special taste for literature and botany, which is buried there.
