Salvador, its current aspect derives from successive campaigns of improvement works carried out in the first half of the 16th century, in the last years of the 17th century or in the beginning of the following and in the end of the 18th. Although it is a property classified as a "National Monument", this classification comes from the fact that, inside, it has a sculptural-funerary ensemble, of great artistic value - the Pantheon of Lemos.
Inside, rectangular in plan, the chancel is noteworthy, with a ribbed vault cover, four bits in the secondary locks and a larger one in the center, where the Lemos Coat of Arms is inserted. Here you will find the famous set of tombs from the 16th century known as the Funerary Chapel of Lemos.
On each side there are two arches that house tomb arches. On the side of the Epistle there is a beautiful set of graves, namely that of the knight Diogo de Lemos, founder of the pantheon, whose lying statue, by master Hodart, and, for his strength and rigor of lines, one of the masterpieces of Portuguese Renaissance sculpture.
