In this parish in the municipality of Águeda, granite dominates, being the only area in which dwellings are made entirely of this type of stone. Along the way there are different elements that document the strong connection to land that the people of the mountainous area have always had.

The threshing floors and granaries, which in the Serra do Caramulo area are called canastros, are still used today and their good condition reveals the cultural and historical value they have for local people.
The elements of reference along the tracks are the Primary School (today a typical restaurant), the "Piscina Fluvial", the water mills, the Casa da Professora, the building of the Parish Council and the crizeiro next to it, the water springs , the remanding forests with native forest, the stories and legends that the population tells, among many others such as chapels, alminhas and the Parish Church.
