The “Águeda River Trail” is a small walking path
route that runs through paths and territories of the Union of Parishes of Águeda and Borralha, Union of Parishes of Recardães and Espinhel and Union of Parishes of Travassô and Óis da Ribeira, connecting the center of the city of Águeda to Pateira de Fermentelos through the route along the banks of the Águeda river.

The first of several points of interest is the “Instituto da Vinha
and Wine ”, next to the inflatable weir that contributes to the
maintenance of the water mirror in the city. The fields
agricultural areas, floodplains of the Águeda River,
the entire route.
Depending on the time of year, the landscape is
marked by corn fields, in several states of
development, but it is also the Águeda River and the entire
biological diversity that enrich this path, inserted in
Natura 2000 Network.
The riparian galleries composed of ash,
alders, laurels, willows, but also some
weeds like acacias, shelter birds like the
Kingfisher, the Mallard, several species of herons, or
even the otters that live here.
