Teatro Aveirense

In 1879 the "Sociedade Construtora e Administrativa do Teatro Aveirense" was created. In 1881 the works were completed. The inauguration was made by the National Theater Company of D. Maria II.

Description

The activity was interrupted in 1947 and, after extensive remodeling and adaptation works, "Teatro Aveirense" restarted its activity in late 1949. In July 1974 the company "Teatro Aveirense, Lda" was born. Despite the Chamber's longstanding interest in the theater, until November 1998 it was never possible to complete the acquisition.
