The Museum is dedicated to promoting the appreciation and interpretation of the industrial heritage of the Factory and also the historical path of its working community. This museum includes collections of porcelain, glass, industrial equipment and technical utensils, drawings, photography, and the documentary collections, Vista Alegre Palace, Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Penha de França and social institutions.

It is also from the Vista Alegre Museum that it is possible to visit the Chapel (dating from the end of the 17th century), the Bairro Operário as well as perform other cultural and educational activities. During the factory's working days, the visit includes a visit to the Factory Manual Painting Workshop.
