Igreja da Misericórdia

It was, for some centuries, the parish church of this parish, dedicated to St. Nicholas. After the construction of the current one, it was remodeled and was dedicated to S. Francisco. With the foundation of Santa Casa da Misericórdia da Feira and after reconstruction works, around 1689, the Igreja da Misericórdia (Santa Maria da Feira) was installed there.

Description

Inside, the chancel and baroque altarpiece, almost the width of the nave and on each side, a wide arch where gilt carved altars fit. It presents in the body of the chapel, the high choir and the tribune of Mesários.

Outside, highlight the 18th century staircase with fountain on the middle level.
