Interesting example that follows the pattern of rural parish churches, consisting of a single nave and a chancel.
Avenida da Igreja
Santa Maria da Feira
The façade of the Church of Santiago (Rio Meão) has three spans: portal, quadrilobed, framed oculus, below the ashlar with the cross of Malta carved in relief and a niche with the stone image of Ançã by the patron saint S. Tiago, dated of the century. XIV. It is a mandatory stop on one of the roads in Santiago that passes through the municipality.
The current church is the result of several interventions that occurred throughout its existence, having been built, during the centuries. XIV - XV, identified with a very late Gothic.
The bell tower attached to the facade, to the north, is possibly dated to the first half of the century. XVIII.
