The Lourosa Zoo is a zoological equipment that has unique national characteristics - it is the only ornithological park in the country. Dedicated exclusively to birds, with a collection of about 500 specimens of 150 different species, distributed over 80 captive habitats.

Description
It has one of the most emblematic and representative collections of birds in the Iberian Peninsula, reflecting the reality of the Avifauna of the 5 continents, being one of the few equipments of its kind in Europe. Located in Lourosa, a city with strong industrial dynamics in the cork sector, the Zoo de Lourosa is about 15 minutes from the city of Porto, with a privileged connection to the nodes of the A1, A29 and A41, a few meters from the EN1. With a very strong dynamic aimed at the family and school public, this differentiating equipment assumes an age span like few others.
The natural fascination that the public has for knowledge about animal life is assumed here alongside the possibility of contacting and experiencing realities that focus on the primary purpose of the Zoo - Recreate Habitats, Reproduce Species and Recycle Knowledge.
