This building is the result of a series of annexations, reforms and additions from the nucleus of the old Paços do Concelho, to which the major remodeling and expansion started in 1849 sought to give a certain unity.

Description

The former Hospital do Espírito Santo, which served as the pilgrims' assistance post to Santiago de Compostela and the old Chapel of Santa Maria, both from the 14th century, is crowded. The Tower and Casa da Câmara are from the 15th century and the Church of Misericórdia from the 16th century. All sides of the history of this building (s) have been returned to you today through an action of rehabilitation and recovery.
