It would have been the first square in the “town” with a trace of medieval urbanism in the city of Barcelos. In its center, a fountain of Renaissance tradition (1621) attributed to João Lopes; around it, Casa dos Carmonas, Casa do Alferes Barcelense and Casa do Santo Condestável D. Nuno Álvares Pereira.
