This is one of the oldest streets in the historic center.
Rua Dom António Barroso
Barcelos
Currently, it is one of the most lively commercial arteries in the city. Of note at the beginning of the street was the building designed by architect José Marques da Silva. Also appreciate the building of Caixa Geral de Depósitos, by architect Ernesto Korrodi; the building numbered 121 to 129, by architect José Vilaça; the House of Mathias Gonçalves da Cruz with numbers 79 to 83, covered with polychrome tiles and a revivalist building with a façade rhythmic by several floors alluding to Greek orders, among others.
