The Lúcio Craveiro da Silva Library emerged in 2004 as part of the integration of Braga into the Bibliopólis project, in a joint initiative by the Braga City Council and the University of Minho.

With the signature of Arq. Mário Abreu, the Library project preserved and exposed the archaeological remains found at the site. Awarded to simultaneously host 600 users with different profiles in different activities, it has modern equipment suitable for the pursuit of its main objectives: to boost reading and attract new audiences.
This cultural facility has 3 reading rooms for adults (one with individual reading booths), a reading room for children and young people and an autonomous space for promoting children's activities. It also has a room with the most modern multimedia technology, an exhibition room and an auditorium with 160 seats.
Opening Hours:
Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 8 pm
Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Guided tours: “From Insula Romana to Library” and “Revisiting the local history of Bracara Augusta”, by appointment.
