Built around 1525, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição is part of the Casa dos Coimbras complex, having been built as the chapel of this palace.
R. de São Domingos, 4700-176
Braga
The chapel, dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Conceição, presents a model of "church-tower", with square plan, in a typology derived from the Castilian models. Next to the altar, inserted in an archesolium with the arms of D. João de Coimbra, a sculptural ensemble was built with the Deposition in the tomb, also attributed to the sculptor João de Ruão, due to the similarity it presents with some of his works, although it is of a later stage. The side walls of the chapel are covered with tile panels with themes of Creation of the World.
