Convent, College and Church of the Congregates, also called “of the Congregation of São Filipe Néri”. In the context of the architectures designed by André Soares, the facade of the Church of the Congregates is that which the important American historian, Robert Smith, defined as his "most emotional work".

In reality, this facade marks a path that developed towards abstraction, moving away from his initial works, linked to the rocaille influence. Started with Casa da Câmara in 1753, this evolutionary line characterizes the third phase of André Soares' career, and the church of the Congregates is one of his best examples.
