The Church of Terceiros, located in the historic center of the city, was one of the first examples of this dynamic, due to its construction to the Third Order of São Francisco, which intended to have its own headquarters (originally headquartered in the Cathedral of Braga, with statutes approved in 1615 (renovated in 1680) and, later, in the chapel of Espírito Santo, at Hospital de São Marcos) (MENDES, 1994).
