Museu do Traje Dr. Gonçalo Sampaio
The Dr. Gonçalo Sampaio Costume Museum is a space dedicated to the ethnography of Baixo Minho. The various costumes of the 19th century, collected in the district of Braga, are on permanent display, different depending on the different geographical areas: Encosta costume, Ribeira costume, Valdeste costume, Sequeira costume or Capotilha costume or Vale do Cávado costume. the latter being the most characteristic costume of the city of Braga.

Description
In this space, it will be possible to know a little about popular history, in which, of course, there are also the musical instruments that were never missing in a popular party. Concertina, Cavaquinho, Viola braguesa, Clarinete, Bombo or Ferrinhos, are still some of the markedly traditional instruments of Minho culture and that are here on display.
In addition to these permanent exhibitions, throughout the year it is also possible to visit the various temporary exhibitions that take place, with an adaptation of the theme to the time of year.
The Museu do Traje also includes training, as it seeks to boost the teaching of embroidery and musical instruments, in order to ensure the transmission of popular knowledge, preventing them from falling into oblivion.
Schedule:
June, July and September: every week from Tuesday to Friday from 12:30 to 17:30.
Other months of the year: 2nd and 3rd week of each month from Tuesday to Saturday from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Closed on national or municipal holidays
