The Nogueira da Silva Museum owes its foundation to the legacy, made in September 1975, in favor of the University of Minho by Mr. António Augusto Nogueira da Silva. Originally from a Braga family, he developed a philanthropic activity that led the State and the Church to distinguish him with various honorary orders.
Av. Central, 61
Braga
The size of the building designed by Architect Rodrigues Lima, the garden and its situation in the city center, made it possible to make spaces for cultural activities complementary to the Museum such as the University Gallery where temporary art exhibitions are held; auditoriums for conferences and concerts; the photo library where several photographic archives are kept and the educational service with a varied program of activities for schools.
The permanent exhibition includes an important collection of porcelain, pieces of furniture, painting, silver, ivory and some tapestries and tiles.
