Description
With a plan from the end of the 17th century, in an unusual way, it will receive in the middle of the following century (between 1753 and 1756) a facade, with a design attributed to André Soares. It is clear the decorative opulence so characteristic of the North / Braga, which works granite with undulating and exuberant forms, and was considered by Robert C. Smith "the richest of ornaments since the Manueline era".
The Sanctuary of Santa Maria Madalena da Falperra consists of the Chapel Building of Santa Maria Madalena itself, centralized and implanted in the highest elevation of a small elevation. In its surroundings, a series of structured and natural elements are arranged in a structured way, which work as an extension of the temple, establishing visual, functional and symbolic relations with the chapel.

Chapel of Santa Maria Madalena, "the penitent"
Small square-shaped chapel, with an altar dedicated to Stª Maria Madalena and popularly called "Nicho". It is located at the beginning of a cork and oak path leading to the north side of the Chapel of Santa Maria Madalena. The roof is pyramidal in shape, topped by a stone pinnacle.

It sits on three steps and is dated 1775. It is located in front of the chapel, at the beginning of the aforementioned lane, on a level that follows the first flight of stairs.
