Esposende
At 2m in height, this granite monolith seems to have an anthropomorphic figure, very incipient.
From the height of the Neolithic-Bronze Age (III-II millennium BC), these monuments would have a devotional vocation with the cult of fertility. Alongside these, others - dolmens or mammoas - that would serve as funerary monuments, constitute the main landmarks of the so-called megalithic culture.
There are also local traditions about the menhir, saying that it cannot be removed from there because great evils can thus reach the place, such as the invasion of the sea to cover the fertile land, resulting in the sterilization of the fields.
