Located at the top of the hill with the same name, this viewpoint is undoubtedly a beautiful place for those who want to have a view of the Esposende coastline.
Marinhas
Esposende
Being easily accessible, through the Abelheira road or by well-marked walking trails, the space is wide and you can enjoy the landscape calmly. With the ocean as the background of this scenario, at the crest of this summit, from Arriba Fóssil, you will see the agricultural fields of the ancient Marinhas, the extensive sand and the dunes of the beaches of Marinhas, Mar, Belinho and Antas. In terms of occupation, this place, some 2,000 years ago, was a small fort, like many other fort towns in Entre Douro e Minho, which probably will not have survived Roman domination. However, the lack of archaeological excavations and open quarries ended up leaving more questions than information. To crown a small plague, we see the humble little chapel, dedicated to N. Sr.ª da Paz, for the end of the Second World War.
