Description
Walking along this trail, along the left bank of the Neiva River, we are dazzled by the estuarine landscape of this river, a place where many migratory birds find refuge. Highlight for the presence of heron (Ardea cinerea), mallard (Anas platyrhyncus), seagull (Larus cachinans) and kingfisher (Alcedo athis). Continuing north, we reach the mouth of this watercourse, denoting a wide variety of dune vegetation, with a special focus on maritime eruca, lambs on the beach and sand lilies.
Location: The trail starts at the mouth of the River Neiva, taking place along the parishes of Antas and Belinho in the municipality of Esposende.
Starting Point: Car park near the mouth of the River Neiva, in Guilheta, Antas.
Route Type: Short, circular.
Scope: Environmental, cultural, sports and landscape.
Distance to be covered: 8,5 Km
Difficulty Level: Easy
Recommended Season: All year.
Cartography: Military Letter of Portugal, nº 54, of the Geographical Institute of the Army in the scale of 1/25000.
Interest Reasons: The Neiva River estuary and the species of fauna and flora that reside there; the area for growing agricultural products; the dune system; the Chapel of Santa Tecla and the milling and sawing mills that are next to the Neiva course.

Additional information: When thinking about doing this trail, since a stretch requires circulation on the beach, predict accidents and observe the tide table as well as the strong waves / sea winds!
