The Environmental Education Center (CEA), in Quinta do Paiva, besides being an asset in the work of raising awareness, education and environmental training, is a dynamic and innovative pole in the area of ​​the environment, where new methodologies are enhanced and worked on. . The spaces available at CEA provide an indispensable technical and logistical framework for the projects to be developed, contributing to a new perception of the relationship between Man / Environment and contact with new forms of knowledge. Based on the formation and enlightenment of the community, this equipment enhances the development of a spirit of co-responsibility and citizenship towards the environmental sustainability of the municipality. The permanent exhibition “Ambiente Interactivo” is one of the main sources of attraction of the equipment, which has a Library equipped with various publications related to the environment, Ecoteca, Auditorium with 70 seats and an activity room. In terms of outdoor spaces, CEA integrates Verdinho and Caça-Sujões workshops, educational gardens, Municipal Garden, Biodiversity Trail, Composting Corner and Picnic Park.

In Abelheira we can see testimonies of the cereal richness of this region. The old mills are cylindrical buildings, built in granite and located on the hillside, where the prevailing winds could be well used. For this, the top of the mill, called “capucha”, was movable, being able to be guided by the “tail” of the mill - a rudder that forced the “capucha” to rotate according to the wind - to take advantage of its orientation. The sails were four and triangular, making the inner gear rotate, constituted by the "girth" and "cart", which, in turn, rotated the moving millstone, also called "walker". Its movement on the fixed - or dormant - millstone transformed the cereal into flour. This whole mechanism was mounted on the upper floor of the mill, which is accessed by a ladder, the lower floor being used for the work of cereal and flour. Another way to reduce the grain to flour used in food was to use the hydraulic power of the streams. This is the case of the Abelheira stream, where many watermills have been used to. These watermills were known as "cup-holders" or "mountain", in a clear allusion to their mechanism for harnessing the strength of the waters. In the Peralta stream, near here, in addition to watermills, hydraulic power was also used for sawing mills.

In place of Góios, in a space that he adopted to take up residence since 1974, the Atelier Museu Henrique Medina gathers pictures of his vast collection of painting.
