Description

Barca do Lago is the expression of the most recent use of this part of the river. Before there was a road connection over the bridge over Cávado, it was here that the river was crossed, in a boat where, according to tradition, if you did not pay for a ticket - the boatmen did it "for God". But today, this “lake” in Cávado has other uses. Nowadays, you can cross the banks using a replica of this old ferry.

The amenity of the place, the softness of the waters, the sun exposure, the fauna and the flora, all contribute for this to be one of the most attractive places in the entire Esposende municipality. It is a place that attracts many people, to enjoy the freshness of the banks, or to practice water sports such as canoeing.
