Description Tábua

Located between mountain terrains (Estrela, Lousã, Buçaco and Caramulo), which gives it a markedly flat plateau, the municipality of Tábua belongs to what the last classification that defined the territorial units determined to designate through the nomenclature Intermunicipal Community - Coimbra Region . It is, therefore, an open door to a region full of contrasts.

Its plateau aspect hides a dense network of valleys opened by rivers and streams, giving the landscape a unique beauty and the possibility to visit several places of interest, such as Pedra da Sé, Penedo Cabana or the various windmills that extend along the bed of the rivers that cross it.

On the other hand, the County has a vast architectural heritage consisting of pillories, manor houses, cult buildings and other buildings where granite prevails, as well as a rich archaeological heritage and remains left by the Roman civilization.

Gastronomy is another attraction of enormous importance in this region of Beira, where cheese stands out, belonging to the Serra de Estrela Demarcated Region. At the table we can enjoy the roasted kid, the chanfana and boxwood, the excellent corn bread, all washed down with a good wine from the Dão, Demarcated Region to which the Municipality of Tábua also belongs.

Also, the climate, which is mild and relatively temperate, allows the soil to be quite productive, enabling the agricultural practice of various crops.
