Description

The image of the patron saint, from the century. XV, is in the Mother Church of Albufeira. Every year, on August 15th, fishermen pay homage to Our Lady in a procession that returns the image to its original church.

It should be noted that the chapel was built in a straight line with the church dedicated to the Blessed Virgin in Melgaço, in the north of the country, marking the extremes that mark the longest in Portugal. Both had similar services and celebrations on the same date.
