Cascais
Since the first half of the 16th century, the space was already used as a recreational, leisure and production farm. After, in 1834, it was transferred to State property, it had several owners, until it was finally acquired by Visconde da Gandarinha, who built a romantic park there.
The garden of Palácio Condes Castro Guimarães was also characterized by a touch of romanticism and, in 1944, after the Gandarinha land was acquired, the two spaces were joined and opened to the public.
The Park has wide lawns, herbaceous and shrub beds, a forest with large trees and paths with a touch of romanticism. It also includes a section of Ribeira dos Mochos, lakes, a picnic area and a field for traditional games. There you will find the Municipal Children's and Youth Library, a cafeteria with a terrace and a beautiful lake, where ducks swim, it is perfect to provide moments of rest and contemplation.
The space also has a playground, which is divided into three areas, adapted to the children's age groups.
