This is a beach dominated by the presence of cliffs, with landscape features of great interest, given the rocky strata that develop as a natural staircase, allowing the observation of the coastal area.

Description

The rocky platforms and the sand were classified in 1998 as a Zone of Biophysical Interest for their high ecological importance and currently won the classification of Avencas Marine Protected Area.

In recent years, it has been awarded the Blue Flag (Quality Symbol).

This beach owes its name to a plant - the Avenca - with a long tradition of medicinal use in Portugal.

Security: Beach guarded / signposted (during the bathing season)
Services: Medical post, restaurant, bar

Beach access:
By car - By the EN6 - Estrada Marginal - or by the interior of Parede. Park and walk to the beach
By train - Exit at Parede station and make the journey on foot

Access to the beach by stairs.
