This museum space intends to make known the Theater built at the time of Emperor Augustus and rebuilt in 57 A.D. at the time of Nero. Abandoned in the century. IV AD, remained buried until 1798, the year in which the ruins were discovered during the reconstruction of Lisbon after the Earthquake.

Only in the second half of the 20th century would the Roman Theater be "rediscovered" again, becoming the target of several archaeological campaigns, along which part of the benches, the orchestra, the stage and stage and a set of archaeological and decorative elements.
The museological route currently comprises an exhibition area, an archaeological field and the ruins of the Theater.
In the exhibition area we can see iconographic and bibliographic elements (18th and 19th centuries) and Roman archaeological remains such as capitals, bases and pillars, sculpture, epigraphy and ceramics.
Multimedia supports, complete the information about the history, function and architecture of this Theater.
