Calçada da Rinchoa, 67 2635-312 Rio de Mouro
Sintra
The Municipality of Sintra acquired the Casa-Museu in 1965, after the death of the master's donor and widow, and since then has provided the population with a unique cultural service where the artist's experiences are evident.
The building had once belonged to Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo, Marquês de Pombal, and at that time held the function of changing the horse between the Quinta da Granja do Marquês (Terrugem, Sintra) and the Palace of Oeiras.
In the 19th century it functioned as a Field Hospital for Portuguese troops during the French Invasions.
The building where the Center of Saloios of the House-Museum of Leal da Câmara is based owes its project, first to Jorge Segurado, who, in 1919, conceived a property to house the Portuguese Ethnographic Museum to be implanted in Flanders, and later Leal da House that remodels it as a primary school.
Since July 21, 2003, the space has exhibited the artist's saloial collections.
