Sintra Mitos e Lendas

The expedition by the myths and legends of Sintra starts in an elevator lined with images of the village, with the sound of the forest and dim lights, but it is on Floor 3 that the starting point of the visit is found, with the feeling of having arrived at the top of the Sintra mountains.

Here, a narrator introduces the concept of the legends and talks about the moment of the Creation of Penhas - Legend of the Five Altos of Equal Names and Different Nicknames of Sintra so that, on Floor 2, visitors start to have contact with historical events and other legends, through touchscreen screens and an animated film on screens, using video mapping, supported by narrations in audio guide.

On the 1st floor you can discover the legends of the Tomb of the Two Brothers and the Seven Wings. To count them, holograms of real dimensions are recreated that give the story spectacularity, but also, kinetic experiences are created, in which the visitors embody a character from a game, running through the woods, dodging obstacles and picking up some of the elements associated with the legend. On the seventh "Ai" the player loses.

In a space dedicated to writers who let themselves be seduced by the magical village of Sintra, pictures of animated images of them are shown, with the narration of their experiences told in the first person. Here, in a 4D space, through a multisensory experience complemented by mechanisms of smell and wind, the legend of the apparition of Our Lady is explained to the dumb girl who grazed a flock of sheep in the mountains.

On Floor -1, new adventures await visitors, such as entering a tunnel that simulates the Initial Well; the immersive experience of being on board a boat, watching the Northwind, while being surrounded by the waves of the sea; or even the scenographies and holograms that recreate the pagan universe omnipresent in legends and myths, through nature, animals and fairies. The visit ends in the surroundings of the magic of the green, with the sound of the forest.
