Description

The famous “basket cars” are one of the best-known attractions in the city and are produced by hand, using wicker and wood, and have two seats.

They are driven and controlled by two paths, dressed in white and with straw hats on their heads, who expertly use their own boots, with thick rubber soles, as brakes.

The trip between Monte and Funchal (up to Livramento) takes about 2 km and takes about 10 minutes, providing users with moments of pure emotion.

* Monday - Saturday: 09:00 - 18:00;
* Sunday: 09:00 - 13:00 (By appointment)
* Pause / Interruption: August 15, December 25
