Characterized by its reddish color, it was once the residence of the Counts of Calçada. Later, it was acquired by Madeiran lawyer and collector Dr. Frederico de Freitas, with the purpose of exposing his valuable legacy of art pieces, which he left to the Region after his death (1978), where we found several glass collections, ceramics, metals, sculpture, engraving, painting and furniture.
