In the past this farm was known as “Quinta das Angústias”, probably due to the fact that the chapel connected to the main building is dedicated to “Nossa Senhora das Angústias”. It is worth mentioning the passage of several personalities of the European nobility in this house.

Description

In 1979, Quinta Vigia was acquired by the Regional Government and both its buildings and gardens were remodeled. On May 2, 1984, it became the official residence of the President of the Regional Government.

The Quinta has beautiful views over the bay of Funchal. The gardens harmoniously combine large trees, exotic birds, palm trees, flowers and several species of plants for lovers of botany.

Monday to Friday: 9 am - 5 pm
Closed: Saturdays, Sundays and holidays
