Parque Ecológico do Funchal

The Parque Ecológico do Funchal was established in 1994, an initiative of the Funchal City Council. Its main objectives are the conservation of nature, the promotion of environmental education and the provision of infrastructure for the recreation and leisure of visitors.

Funchal

Description

Currently, it occupies an area of approximately 10 km2, in mountainous terrain, north of the city of Funchal. The orography, the landscape, the picnic parks and the good road accessibility make the Parque Ecológico do Funchal a space of excellence for leisure and for the development of recreational and sporting activities in contact with the natural environment.

Area: 10 km2

Altitude: Between 470 meters of altitude on the Santa Luzia stream and 1818 meters of altitude on the peak of Areeiro
