Funchal
In the heart of this Old Town, is located the Chapel of Corpo Santo, one of the few fourteenth century buildings that has survived to the present day. In this place you will also find one of the oldest streets in the city, Rua de Santa Maria, which hosts several local businesses, such as the typical Hat Factory, which has been operating in the same space for more than 60 years, or the Factory of Boots of Villainous .
When you follow the cobbled path of this street, you will arrive at the beautiful Igreja do Socorro. At the top, there is also a small viewpoint, which allows you to enjoy a beautiful city landscape.
Nightlife in the Old Town is currently a major attraction where art and fun are joined, as the streets in this area have undergone an artistic intervention by local and foreign artists (a project "Arte de Portas Abertas") that represents one of the facets of the city's urban art and culture.
