Parque Florestal

The Parque Florestal, with an area of about five hectares, offers beauty and well-being to those who visit it, due to the variety of species of flora - from redwoods, to linden trees, plane trees and maples - and fauna, such as partridges and jackdaws. Located in the heart of the city, in “communion” with the Tâmega River, the Parque Florestal de Amarante is very popular for leisure, sports and hiking.

Description

Its planting dates back to 1916, at the initiative of António do Lago Cerqueira, with the main objective of afforestation of the Marão and Meia Via mountains.
