Transportation - Gondomar

The center of Gondomar is just 6 km from the city of Porto, with excellent road access, through the IC29, with connection to the Via de Cintura Interna (VCI) facilitating access to the international airport Francisco Sá Carneiro, and the A43 that allows quick access to the national motorway network.

Much of the territory is served by the transport network of the company Gondomarense and by S.T.C.P (Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos do Porto), with regular routes starting and ending in Porto.

At the railway level, the Municipality is served by C.P. through the Northern railway line, with a station in Rio Tinto. Near Valbom, already in the municipality of Porto, is the Campanhã International Railway Station. Metro do Porto extends to Fânzeres, via line F zone C8.

At the river level, one of the best ways to visit the Municipality, Gondomar has several anchorages along the course of the Douro, also offering two marinas. Between the parish of Lomba and the União das Freguesias de Melres e Medas there is a Taxi-boat service that carries out regular crossings.
