The Church of Santa Maria de Sobretâmega has a late medieval construction which, however, maintains a very typical Romanesque flavor to this region.

Description

The location of this Church, which replaced the parish of the old parish of São Pedro de Canaveses, is due to the initiative of Queen D. Mafalda, founder of the hostel and the bridge of Canaveses. In fact, it was the construction of the bridge that motivated the Church's new location.

It integrates the Route of the Romanesque.
