The Serra do Muro de Vandoma appears in medieval documents as mons Benidoma or Bendoma, representing a fundamental reference to the surrounding territory. This place, at a maximum altitude of 519 meters, has natural conditions of defense and a wide visual field. Archaeological remains point to an occupation from the Late Bronze Age to the Middle Ages.

Paredes
The Serra do Muro place name comes from the existence of a wall about 4 meters wide and 3,927 meters perimeter, in a continuous but irregular circuit. It is built by dry ashlars, consisting of two parallel walls filled internally with small stone. In the best preserved sections it does not exceed one meter in height, except for a place that still maintains about two meters with a rectangular ledge of 0.40 meters. Inside the walled area, different lithic materials, fragments of domestic ceramics and tégula appear on the surface. A bronze spearhead was collected in the surrounding surroundings. In the Middle Ages there would have been a monastery, at the beginning belonging to the royal patronage, then submitted to the Rule of Saint Augustine and later to the Premonstratense Order.
