This route is known as the “Pilgrimage Trail” because it is the path through which the procession in honor of Nossa Senhora do Salto passes every year on the first Sunday in May. It is a linear route that connects the Chapel of Nossa Senhora do Salto and the Mother Church of Aguiar de Sousa, in Senande. This path along the half slope of the Serra do Facho allows hikers to observe mining work, local geology and built heritage. In the distance you can reach the summits of the surrounding mountains and the Tower of the Castle of Aguiar de Sousa. The contact with nature is privileged with the contemplation of the rock swallows and the peregrine falcon that nest on the escarpments of Salto.
