Built between 1705 and 1714, the aqueduct crosses the parishes of Beiriz and Argivai, in the municipality of Póvoa de Varzim, and the structure of its arches grows in scope as it approaches its destination. Currently, a large part of the original construction is still visible, although already very fractional.

This building initially had 999 arches and carried water from a spring in Terroso, next to the Santo António niche, to the Santa Clara monastery, in Vila do Conde.
