Description

The weapons of D. Diogo de Sousa, governor responsible for the completion of the works, are presented over the entrance gate, and inside there is a small chapel, from 1743, dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Conceição. Its construction was aimed at defending the interests associated with fishing, an activity that was then the economic support of the village of Póvoa de Varzim
