The Church of Lapa, dated 1772, is a simple and modest temple, like the fishing class that had it built and that here venerates its patron saint, Nossa Senhora da Assunção.

In the part facing the sea, a small beacon, now deactivated, reinforced the practical and sentimental connection between this church and the fishermen in the work. In addition to an image of Nª. Mr. da Lapa, there is a panel invoking the serious tragedy of 27 February 1892, which profoundly marked the community and its customs. Source: http://www.portoenorte.pt/
