The Chapel of Nossa Senhora do Desterro and the cruise are located in Souto de Bairros, currently a garden space. Here, Napoleonic troops camped during the second French invasions in March 1809. The chapel was built in 1648 at the initiative of four families from Santiago de Bougado who supported the cost of the works.

Over the centuries, this chapel has undergone expansion and repair works, the last of which was carried out in the 1980s, removing a significant part of its original design. In honor of Nossa Senhora do Desterro, a feast is held in this chapel, on the fourth Sunday of April of each year, with the large participation of the local population.
