Chapel with a Latin cross plan, consisting of a single nave, sacristy and factory room adjoining the chancel facing east. The temple stands out in the landscape due to its overlap with the vernacular architecture that surrounds it.

Trofa
On the penultimate Sunday of January, religious and profane parties are celebrated in São Gonçalo de Amarante. Traditionally, pilgrims from all over the region attended these on foot, crossing the forest paths, equipped with sticks. Nowadays, in addition to these, a large number of riders and practitioners of off-road sports, especially cyclists, also attend the pilgrimage.
