The Environmental Monitoring and Interpretation Center (CMIA), located in the former “Casa do Risco”, was created in 2007, for the development of environmental awareness actions and monitoring of various environmental descriptors, with the aim of increasing the responsibility of citizens in the environment and contribute to the improvement of the environment at regional level.

Description
The Environmental Monitoring and Interpretation Center has played an important role in the formation of environmental awareness in the community in which it operates.
The Environmental Monitoring and Interpretation Center is an equipment of the Municipality of Vila do Conde, with technical-scientific coordination in charge of the Interdisciplinary Center for Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR) of the University of Porto (UP).
