The Crestuma / Lever Dam is the passage over the Douro River further downstream, at the eastern end of the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia. It went into operation in 1986.

The mobile-type dam consists of nine 25.5-meter high pillars on which eight unloading gates and a navigation lock close to the left bank of the Douro are supported. The reservoir extends for about 44km and has a capacity of 110 million m3 of water. Source: https://www.cm-gaia.pt/
