Cruzeiro da Independência - Lanhelas

It is a monument commemorating the wars of independence. Juxtaposed to a windmill, this monument, symbol and reference of the parish of Lanhelas, aims to mark the famous date of April 23, 1644, which was in history, when the inhabitants of Lanhelas defended themselves, with courage, of the Spanish onslaught . In fact, it is on this day, April 23, that the Day of Lanhelas is celebrated.
